$2 million suit against Chartwell client in New York dismissed...

 

The Client:

A real estate development company in the greater New York area..

 

The Situation:

Charwell's client was sued by a former tenant who claimed violations of the Fair Housing Act, anti-discrimination laws and civils rights laws based upon the termination of her tenancy. Plaintiff claimed more than $2 million in damages.

 

The Chartwell Solution:

Vigorously representing the development company's interests, Chartwell won at trial and was successful in having the case dismissed. The plaintiff appealed, but after briefing and argument before the Appellate Division her appeal was dismissed and Chartwell's client paid no damages.
