Catherine Galvis is an insurance defense litigator practicing throughout Florida, representing insurance carriers, third-party administrators and large self-insured businesses. Her practice focuses on first and third-party claims. Catherine is experienced in handling coverage disputes through all stages of litigation from inception through conclusion, whether that be trial, negotiated settlement or on appeal such as in the matter of People’s Trust MGA, LLC v. Josef Pesta, 279 So. 3d 821 (Fla. 4th DCA 2019). Catherine also handles pre-suit investigations on behalf of insurance companies by conducting examinations under oath, responding to civil remedy notices, drafting reservation of rights, coverage determinations and recommendations, declaratory judgment lawsuits and defending against bad faith.

Catherine began her career as an assistant public defender in the Miami Dade County Public Defender’s Office where she tried over 20 cases to verdict, including 10 consisting of jury trials. Her time in the courtroom has led to her effectiveness in advocating on behalf of her clients and offering creative defense strategies that provide positive outcomes and minimize risk.  

Prior to joining the firm, Catherine was an insurance defense attorney for a firm in Plantation, Florida
