Danielle M. Butler is an accomplished insurance defense attorney, representing various insurance carriers throughout the state of Florida.

Danielle enthusiastically analyzes her cases and constantly communicates with her clients as she works to develop a defense strategy that includes their desired results. Danielle assists insurers in coverage disputes through all stages from inception through completion of litigation.  She specializes in pre-suit investigations on behalf of insurance companies where she conducts thorough examinations under oath, provides her clients with in-depth coverage recommendations, and drafts reservation of rights letters, coverage determination letters, and responses to civil remedy notices. She is also a skilled litigator having handled a variety of motions, hearings, and trials throughout her career.

Prior to joining Chartwell Law, Danielle served the citizens of Southwest Florida for over a decade as an Assistant State Attorney in the 20th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Fort Myers. As an Assistant State Attorney she handled everything from second degree misdemeanors to capital felonies, including taking numerous cases to trial. Most recently, she was a member of the Postconviction Unit handling complex hearings and motions.  During her time as a prosecutor, Danielle honed her research, legal drafting, and courtroom skills making her an efficient and effective litigator and a fierce advocate for her clients.  Danielle also served as an instructor in the office’s clerical and attorney training programs.

Danielle has been actively involved in the Lee County Bar Association for many years, previously serving as the Bench Bar Gala Chair from 2016-2020.
