Christopher J. Carlson is a Partner in Chartwell’s New Jersey office. He is a1990 graduate of Rutgers College of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, with B.A. degrees in History and Political Science, and a 1993 graduate of the Rutgers School of Law-Camden. While in law school he was an inaugural member of what has become the school’s Civil Practice Clinic and was the recipient of the Gleicher Award.
Mr. Carlson is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. This designation, held by less than 2% of New Jersey attorneys, requires a rigorous application process demonstrating trial experience, peer and judicial references, passage of a written examination, and continuing legal education. www.njbac.org.
Mr. Carlson is a member of both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars. He has handled matters in all of New Jersey’s 21 counties and in each Federal vicinage.
Mr. Carlson’s practice concentrates on the defense of New Jersey and Pennsylvania personal injury matters on behalf of insurance companies, self-insured entities and third-party administrators, in the fields of premises liability, catastrophic injury, tractor trailer, motor vehicle, product liability and construction claims. He has also handled commercial, insurance coverage, fire loss, Dram Shop, subrogation and first party “Personal Injury Protection” (“PIP”) matters, as well as Workers’ Compensation claims.
Mr. Carlson has periodically lectured to clients and industry organizations on topics and recent developments in case law in many of these practice areas.
