Angel M. Gomez focuses his practice primarily on workers' compensation defense matters representing insurance carriers, self-insureds, and businesses located in New York. He handles a wide range of issues including causation, apportionment, permanency and degree of disability.
Angel’s experience includes handling:
Rounding out his experience is Angel’s experience representing claimants at his previous law firm. In this capacity, he represented claimants before the New York Workers’ Compensation Board where he negotiated Section 32 and stipulations on behalf of his clients resulting in favorable settlements.
Prior to joining Chartwell Law, Angel was an assistant district attorney for Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York where he was responsible for investigations, collecting evidence, preparing civilian and NYPD witnesses for hearings, trials, and presentation to the Brooklyn Grand Jury’s for indictment.
While in law school, Angel interned with several organizations – Community Legal Aid in Springfield, Massachusetts, Criminal Defense Division of the Public Defender’s Office in Enfield, Connecticut, and the Employment Rights Division of the Attorney General’s Office in Hartford, Connecticut.
