For more than 25 years, Bernard J. Kelly has been representing employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation matters in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
He also assists clients in subrogation matters, specifically lien recovery. In addition to workers’ compensation defense, Bernie represents defendants in civil litigation matters.
Bernie provides value to his clients by analyzing early litigation claims for prompt resolution through litigation or settlement. He has successfully prosecuted workers’ compensation petitions seeking termination and suspension of benefits saving clients significant costs.
Bernie began his legal career working as a prosecutor in the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh. After working as an assistant district attorney, he joined the staff counsel office of a major insurance carrier, where he served as managing attorney overseeing their legal staff.
A proponent of helping his clients prevent lawsuits, Bernie has presented numerous legal lectures and case law updates to insurance carriers and employers regarding workers compensation issues.
