Douglas Gromack represents large businesses, self-insured employers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation defense matters, throughout the state of New Jersey. His clients represent a variety of industries including retail, transportation, pharmaceutical, health care, and manufacturing.

Douglas Gromack represents large businesses, self-insured employers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation defense matters, throughout the state of New Jersey. His clients represent a variety of industries including retail, transportation, pharmaceutical, health care, and manufacturing.

With a detailed eye, Douglas skillfully evaluates his clients’ cases to craft the most appropriate defense strategy aimed at swift resolution. He is particularly astute at uncovering multi-jurisdictional and employment related issues, as well as dissecting compliance regulation and culling statistics and procedures designed at helping mitigate exposure.

Before joining Chartwell Law, Douglas served in the Office of the Public Defender for the State of New Jersey. There, he provided legal representation to clients in cases of alleged abuse or neglect filed by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence P. DeBello of the Superior Court of New Jersey helping prepare the Judge to rule on juvenile delinquency, special immigrant, domestic violence, custody/support and other family court matters.

Douglas earned his degree from Rutgers Law, attending on a full academic scholarship and maintaining Dean’s List honors throughout his schooling. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Berle M. Schiller of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania drafting memoranda on complex and unsettled criminal and civil law issues. He also served as a research assistant to Professor J.C. Lore, III, assisting in the creation of Modern Trial Advocacy: Law School Edition, a text utilized by prominent law schools nationwide.

Outside of the office, you will often find Douglas at New Jersey Motorsports Park where he and fellow driving enthusiasts explore their passion for high-performance auto racing.
