Joseph Ramser is a partner in Chartwell’s Pittsburgh Office. He is a 1986 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a 1989 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He is admitted to the Pennsylvania and West Virginia bars, and to the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Ramser began his legal career in 1990 with Kreder Brooks Hailstone in Scranton, PA.  He returned to Pittsburgh in 1992, where he worked for two years as an associate with Israel & Wood.  He then spent more than nine years as a staff attorney with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, and almost 12 years with AIG’s Pittsburgh Staff Counsel Office.

Mr. Ramser’s practice focuses primarily on representing employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation cases in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  He has also represented defendants in civil litigation matters.  He has presented numerous workers’ compensation lectures and case-law updates to insurance carriers and employers.
