Marcus Mahfood is an experienced federal court litigator, specializing in the areas of admiralty and maritime law and insurance coverage litigation. Through years of working with London and domestic marine insurers, Mr. Mahfood understands the nuances in marine insurance practice and policy.

Mr. Mahfood is practice includes handling a wide variety of crew and passenger claims, marine insurance claims, yacht and small recreational boat matters, personal injury and wrongful death claims, property damage claims, premises liability, products liability, salvage, boat fires, and claims falling under the Limitation of Liability Act.

Mr. Mahfood defends vessel owners, cruise lines, charterers, operators, P&I Clubs and insurers, in markets ranging from large passenger cruise and cargo lines to privately-owned yachts and recreational boating interests.

Mr. Mahfood frequently defends claims brought on by passengers and crew members pursuant to the Jones Act, General Maritime Law, Death on the High Seas Act, and the Longshoremen and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, on behalf of cruise lines. Mr. Mahfood often handles claims in arbitration, as well as in state or federal courts, should those claims proceed to a jury trial or appeal.

In addition, Mr. Mahfood defends marine product manufacturers and suppliers, ranging from pleasure craft manufacturers to marine safety equipment and rigging manufacturers.
