Shaghayegh Nowroozpour ("Shaggy") is an accomplished insurance coverage defense attorney, representing numerous insurance carriers throughout the state of Florida.
Shaggy assists insurers in coverage disputes through all stages of litigation from inception through trial. As such, she handles pre-suit investigations on behalf of insurance companies by conducting examinations under oath and SIU investigations, responding to civil remedy notices, drafting reservation of rights, coverage determinations and recommendations, declaratory judgment and bad faith.
She has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts, and has achieved defense verdicts in trials involving first-party property matters. In addition, Shaggy has sucessfully defended insurance companies in cases involving appraisal, blasting/sinkhole/earth movement, windstorm, plumbing and water losses, fire, theft, mold remediation, water mitigation and lawsuits filed pursuant to any assignment of insurance benefits, as well as maritime, lemon law, bodily injury matters, personal injury, bad faith, and premises liability.
Shaggy is skilled in determing the strengths and weaknesses in her cases and regularly communicates with her clients to achieve the best results. Her substantial experience allows her to develop a clear strategy towards successful resolution - whether it be through alternative dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration, motion practice or trial. Her most notable achievements include winning several motions for summary judgement in both state and federal courts, defense verdicts in first-party property coverage jury and bench trials, and establishing nationally recognized case law on material misrepresentation.
Before joining Chartwell Law, Shaggy practiced insurance coverage defense with a nationally recognized law firm.
