Christopher L. Troy is admitted to the Pennsylvania and California Bars, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. For more than 20 years, he has maintained a practice focused on analysis of insurance and reinsurance coverage issues arising under various first party property insurance and reinsurance agreements in various commercial and industrial sectors (e.g., energy/power generation; pipeline; transportation; refinery; construction; heavy equipment/machinery); subrogation/recovery actions; appraisals of property damage and "time element" valuations; and defense of business/property owners, contractors, design professionals and manufacturers. Mr. Troy has tried numerous cases to verdict in state and federal court in several jurisdictions, and has served as both Umpire and Appraiser in Appraisal proceedings.
He is a member of the Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Sections of the American Bar Association, serving in the following leadership roles: Property Insurance Law Committee, Chair (August 2003-present); Vice-Chair (1998-2003); and Newsletter Editor (1997-1998). He serves on the Editorial Board for the Insurance Law Reporter and is a member of the Philadelphia, Montgomery and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, and the Loss Executive Association. He has lectured frequently on insurance coverage and trial practice issues for various bar and property claims associations, insurance industry clients, and forensic consultants.
