Stephen J. Fireoved is a 1976 graduate of Gettysburg College and 1979 graduate of Temple Law School. After graduating law school, he spent three years on active duty with the Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps and litigated over 150 criminal trials at various duty stations throughout the Nation. After leaving active duty, he initiated his private law practice with large firms in Wilkes Barre, PA and Ft. Washington, PA where he concentrated his practice in workers’ compensation, labor and employment and municipal law. In 1993 he went in house with The Budd Company, a large Philadelphia automotive parts manufacturer, where he assumed duties of manager of worker’s compensation, human resources, and labor relations. During his time with the Company, Mr. Fireoved was the architect of a unique and highly successful disability management program that was recognized by several professional human resource organizations as a “best practice”. In 2004 Mr. Fireoved returned to the private practice of law with continued concentration in workers’ compensation, labor and employment law. He has lectured extensively for the Montgomery County Bar Association and has written numerous articles on workers’ compensation for the Pennsylvania Self Insurers’ Association. Mr. Fireoved continues to serve the Nation as a Captain in the United States Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He recently completed a six month tour of active duty whereby he assisted in preparation of the Quadrennial Defense Review which sets forth Department of Defense strategy and priorities for the next four years. He also served on Task Force Navy Family and supplied legal assistance to military commands and families devastated by losses due to Hurricane Katrina and prepared a legal contingency plan for possible future disasters.
