Bryan P. Werley is a partner in the firm's center city Philadelphia office. He represents several national retail stores in the defense of general liability matters as well as corporations, partnerships and individuals in commercial litigation matters. He has tried cases to successful verdicts in the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and combines a common sense approach to the law with the honed skills of a litigator and the refined presence of a trial lawyer. Bryan graduated from Temple University of Law. While in law school, Bryan served as the Executive Editor of the Temple International & Comparative Law Journal. His article, titled "Aussie Rules: Universal Jurisdiction Over Internet Defamation", was published in the Spring edition of the journal. Prior to joining Chartwell, Bryan worked as a legal intern for the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Northeast Regional Counsel, as well as, a law clerk for the center city law firm of Kelly, Dubrow & Herron, P.C. Bryan also worked as a certified legal intern with the Philadelphia City Solicitor: Claims Unit. Prior to law school, Bryan graduated from the American University, where he was a dean's scholar. He joined the Chartwell Law Offices, LLP in 2004 and currently assists the firm in its general liability practice. His practice focuses upon representing individuals and corporations in areas of premises liability, products liability, loss prevention, wrongful arrest and detention, corporate litigation, shareholder and partner disputes.
Bryan was selected as a Rising Star, a distinction given by Philadelphia Magazine to only the top 2.5% of lawyers under the age of forty". Bryan lectures for the Pennsylvania Bar Association. His most recent seminar was titled “My First Federal Trial.” when joined other litigators and members of the federal bench to teach younger lawyers what to expect during their first trial. He also recently moderated a panel of united States Magistrate Judges during the last Federal Bench/Bar Conference in Philadelphia.
