Nathaniel M. Holmes is a magna cum laude graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and a 2004 cum laude graduate of Widener University School of Law. A former officer in the United States Army, Mr. Holmes was Chief of the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Division of Claims Management from June, 2002 through April, 2005. In that capacity he was responsible for managing a staff of over 60 managerial, supervisory and clerical personnel. He conducted training sessions for insurers, employers and third-party administrators addressing all aspects of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act and accompanying Regulations. He was responsible for processing all claims forms filed under the Act and for monitoring industry performance to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance. From July, 1999 through June, 2002 he was the Manager of the Claims Management Division during which time he managed one supervisor and 12 clerical staff, and was responsible for processing over 50,000 petitions per year. Before advancing into management, he worked at the Bureau from December, 1993 through July, 1999 as an Administrative Assistant. In that capacity he communicated with attorneys and insurers and employers in order to resolve a variety of disputes and researched, analyzed and responded to questions posed by members of the general public regarding application of the Workers’ Compensation Act and its Regulations. Mr. Holmes joined the Harrisburg office of The Chartwell Law Offices, LLP on May 2, 2005.
