Samantha Lewis maintains a diverse practice in all aspects of insurance litigation, including personal injury and wrongful death claims, premises liability, professional liability, and construction claims. She draws on a background in complex commercial litigation and labor and employment litigation in state and federal courts.

Some of Samantha’s representative matters include:

  • Securing a summary judgment dismissal for a commercial client facing a contractual indemnity claim involving damages exceeding $1 million.
  • Assisting with the defense of a client in arbitration against claims of fraud and wrongful termination, resulting in a take-nothing judgment in favor of the client and an award of over $800,000 in attorney’s fees.
  • Winning a summary judgment dismissal for a contractor in a construction defect lawsuit with damages exceeding $1.1 million.
  • Obtaining a writ of mandamus leading to the dismissal of a significant personal injury claim.

Samantha graduated from Baylor Law School, where she helped develop the 2018 mock trial competition known as Top Gun and assisted with the creation of the Baylor Law School Executive LL.M. in Litigation Management, the first of its kind in the nation. As a member of the Baylor Public Interest Legal Society, she helped design and execute Adoption Day, a pro bono event for the people of McLennan County in 2015-18. Samantha also studied trial advocacy at the Academy of the Advocate in St. Andrews, Scotland.

When Samantha isn’t in the courtroom, she enjoys traveling and exploring Austin with her two dogs, Merle and Junie.
