Welcome to Chartwell Law

At Chartwell Law, our mission is to help our clients achieve their goals. To that end, in everything we do, the attorneys and staff at Chartwell Law abide by our values of partnership with clients, cost effectiveness, accessibility, responsiveness, creativity, frequent and clear communication, and quality legal work.

Founded in 2002, Chartwell Law began as a four-lawyer workers’ compensation boutique defense firm. In response to our clients’ needs, we expanded our insurance defense practice beyond workers’ compensation and beyond Pennsylvania to many other practice areas and states.

Now, with 18 offices located throughout the United States, Chartwell Law provides legal advice and representation for clients in a wide variety of legal matters, ranging from general liability to workers’ compensation. Due to our constantly expanding field of attorneys and clients, our firm has a broad knowledge-set and a wide range of practice areas.

Our clients deserve attorneys with extensive training and experience in the practice area that best suits the clients’ needs. Chartwell Law’s legal team is comprised of over 130 well-experienced attorneys, so clients can expect that they will receive the support they require. We pride ourselves on our well-researched and well-equipped attorneys, some of whom are noted authors of useful legal resources, off of which other attorneys model their practices. Our ultimate mission is to provide excellent legal representation for our clients at competitive rates. We enjoy building relationships with our clients and working with the clients as partners, not merely as service vendors.

Year founded

The Chartwell Name

The firm’s roster of attorneys does not include a lawyer with the surname Chartwell. When the firm launched fifteen years ago, we decided to forgo the traditional practice of identifying a law firm by the names of its founding partners in favor of a name that captures our attitude, values, and spirit. History buff and founding partner Andrew Greenberg suggested Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill, to represent our commitment to provide our clients with sound advice, zealous representation and cheerful goodwill.

Chartwell, with its noble brick walls, busy work-study and vibrant grounds, embodies the magnificent public life of this extraordinary leader. In this way, the Chartwell name represents our law firm’s aspiration to serve our clients with integrity, vigor and determination, while still treating our adversaries with respect.
