Adam R. LaGrassa brings a broad and deeply rooted civil litigation background to his role as Of Counsel at Chartwell Law. His practice is shaped by years of experience representing insurers, policyholders, public entities, and government agencies in diverse matters across state and federal courts.
Adam’s work spans a wide range of civil litigation, including personal injury, premises liability, property damage, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, workers’ compensation, commercial disputes, construction matters, municipal law, and real estate-related litigation. He handles all phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, trial, and appeal.

He represented state agencies, officials, and employees in civil actions involving tort claims, employment matters, civil rights disputes, and contract litigation, and successfully argued cases at both the trial and appellate levels, including before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Adam’s experience also includes advising municipal clients on statutory and regulatory compliance, labor and employment matters, public records issues, and administrative proceedings. This background informs his practical, well-rounded approach to litigation and risk management.
He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Adam earned his Juris Doctor from New England Law | Boston and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Merrimack College, where he also studied United States and European history.
In his spare time, Adam enjoys golfing and hiking, and values spending quality time with his family and dog. These pursuits help him maintain balance and perspective outside of his legal practice.
