Bruce D. Vail focuses his practice on civil litigation and insurance defense, drawing on extensive courtroom and trial experience developed over more than a decade representing clients in sophisticated litigation matters. His background includes insurance defense, criminal defense, military justice, and constitutional law, giving him a well-rounded perspective in dispute resolution and trial strategy.

Bruce has substantial experience handling all phases of litigation, including depositions, motion practice, negotiations, client counseling, and trial advocacy. Prior to joining Chartwell, he represented clients in a wide range of major felony cases and successfully obtained acquittals and dismissals. He also has experience supervising investigations involving allegations of fraud and advising on matters involving federal law and employment-related issues.

Bruce has contributed to legal education by teaching trial advocacy through the Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques at Emory University School of Law. In addition to his civilian practice, he served as an officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he received the Pro Bono Service Award, and his B.A. from the University of San Francisco. Bruce is licensed to practice in Georgia.
