Carly J. Ross represents businesses and insurers in civil litigation, with particular experience in matters involving the transportation, shipping, and logistics industries. Her practice has also included representing gig-economy and technology-platform clients in personal injury, transportation, and commercial disputes.

Carly manages matters in both state and federal court, where she develops case strategy and handles motion practice. She also has substantial discovery experience, including taking and defending depositions and working with fact and expert witnesses. As cases progress, Carly prepares them for mediation and trial and has argued motions before the court, including motions to dismiss and transfer venue.

In addition to her transportation-focused work, Carly has handled professional liability, general liability, wrongful death, and catastrophic loss matters. This breadth of experience allows her to evaluate claims from different angles, identifying early where a claim presents the greatest risk and where there may be opportunities to narrow that exposure.

Carly earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law. While in law school, she served as Managing Online & Symposium Editor of the University of Illinois Law Review and completed a judicial externship with the Honorable D. Renee Jackson of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

She earned her B.S., summa cum laude, in Health Planning and Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a minor in Political Science.

Carly is admitted to practice in Illinois and Indiana, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Indiana State Bar Association.
