Jacob A. Perez focuses his practice on civil litigation, with experience handling premises liability, personal injury, insurance, and other commercial and civil disputes. His background includes both private practice and in-house insurance litigation, where he has represented clients in matters ranging from pre-suit disputes through trial.

Jacob has taken and defended numerous depositions involving plaintiffs, corporate representatives, fact witnesses, and experts. His experience also includes preparing corporate representatives for deposition, conducting witness interviews, and drafting and arguing dispositive and pre-trial motions. He has represented clients in mediations and arbitration proceedings and has trial experience that includes second-chair responsibilities, witness preparation, and direct examination.

Earlier in his career, Jacob represented individuals and businesses in matters involving breach of contract, collections, property disputes, landlord-tenant issues, and intellectual property. He also gained experience with estate planning and trademark matters, including preparing estate planning documents and assisting clients with trademark registration and related litigation.

Jacob earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, where he received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. He graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College at Florida International University with a B.A. in Philosophy and earned his A.A. in Philosophy from Miami Dade College, where he was selected as the Kendall Campus’s Most Outstanding Student in Philosophy.

Jacob is admitted to practice in Florida and is proficient in Spanish. Outside of his legal practice, he volunteers with his church community. His interests include theology and church history, piano, and sound engineering.
