Karen M. Droz is an experienced litigation attorney focusing on complex defense matters across a wide range of liability and professional negligence claims. Her practice includes the defense of premises and product liability actions, mass torts, medical and dental malpractice, nursing home litigation, and transportation-related matters.
Karen handles all aspects of litigation strategy and execution. Her experience includes drafting and arguing dispositive and discovery motions, conducting fact and expert depositions, managing discovery, advising clients on case valuation and resolution strategy, and representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.
Prior to joining Chartwell, Karen developed a strong foundation in trial advocacy and dispute resolution through hands-on litigation experience, representing insurers and businesses in high value litigation through trial. She brings a practical approach to case management and is known for her clear communication with clients.
Karen earned her Juris Doctor from UIC John Marshall Law School, where she concentrated in Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution and was a recipient of a Dean’s Scholarship. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Eastern Connecticut State University. Karen is admitted to practice in Illinois and Indiana, as well as the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
Outside of her practice, Karen enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family, including her dog, Bandit.
