Lauren Masching focuses her practice on general liability and insurance defense, bringing a distinctive perspective shaped by her dual background in law and nursing. As both a licensed attorney and a registered nurse, she combines clinical insight with legal strategy to provide comprehensive, client-centered representation.
Lauren has experience managing a wide range of insurance defense matters, from case investigation through resolution, including depositions, arbitrations, and court hearings. She is skilled in assessing risk and identifying strategies that align with client objectives while mitigating liability. Her prior experience in healthcare risk management and patient advocacy further enhances her ability to manage challenging regulatory frameworks and advise clients on issues involving compliance, professional practice standards, and organizational integrity.
Beyond the courtroom, Lauren has presented on topics such as the legal implications of nursing practice. She has also authored publications on emerging healthcare issues, including the rise of childhood type 2 diabetes and the evolving use of electronic health records.
Lauren earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, where she also obtained a Health Law Certificate. She received her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Iowa. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and holds active certifications as a Registered Nurse under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact, along with certifications in Crisis Prevention and Basic Life Support.
