EDUCATION

Mercer University School of Law

Lee Wilkes II focuses his practice on a broad range of litigation matters, bringing a unique technical and analytical background to his legal work. With experience including patent law, appellate litigation, and civil litigation, Lee applies a thoughtful and multidisciplinary perspective to each matter.

Prior to joining Chartwell, Lee gained experience through judicial externships with the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, where he assisted with case analysis, legal research, and drafting bench memoranda involving patent disputes, veterans’ affairs matters, Federal Claims Court appeals, and other significant legal issues. He also completed an externship with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he analyzed ex parte appeals and drafted memoranda addressing issues related to obviousness and anticipation in patent matters.

Lee’s additional experience includes assisting under-resourced inventors through a pro bono patent program, drafting patent applications, conducting contract analysis, and supporting litigation matters involving discovery and deposition preparation. His diverse background is further strengthened by his education in biomedical engineering, which provides him with a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, biological, and programming concepts.

Lee earned his J.D. from Mercer University School of Law, where he received a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing and the Rusty Gun Award for leadership. During law school, he served as Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association and was a member of the Atlanta IP Inn of Court. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with High Honors, from Georgia Institute of Technology.
