Taylor Cerwinski represents corporations and individuals in civil litigation, with a focus on product liability, consumer fraud, gross negligence, and general liability matters. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New Jersey and appears in both state and federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Before joining Chartwell, Taylor defended clients against high-exposure claims in commercial and personal injury matters, managing litigation from initial liability evaluations through trial preparation. She has experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, and managing discovery and motion practice with precision and responsiveness. Taylor has also supervised junior attorneys, offering guidance on case strategy, client interaction, and legal writing to support their professional growth and ensure consistent, high-quality service.
In addition to her defense work, Taylor has experience advocating on behalf of low-income clients in landlord-tenant disputes, successfully preventing eviction in every case she handled. Her background also includes work in legal research and policy analysis on anti-corruption and compliance matters at the international level.
Taylor earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she focused on health law and distinguished herself in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. She was a member of the William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team and the ADR Honors Board, winning the Best Oral Advocate award in the Spanogle International Commercial Arbitration Competition. She holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in English from Boston College.
Outside the courtroom, Taylor brings a passion for leadership and organizational excellence, having served as both CEO and Chief Compliance Officer of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, where she managed a team of over 100 members and negotiated significant contracts and insurance policies.
