Chartwell Law continues its expansion with the addition of five new attorneys to the firm’s Miami, Florida office. The new group of attorneys is led by Jorge L. Cruz-Bustillo. He is joined by partners Denisse M. Ibarra and Nathaniel D. Tobin and associates Nicole E. Crabtree and Joel K. Ortega. The group was previously with the Miami-Brickell Office of Kelley Kronenberg. All bring extensive experience in first party property defense, which will be the focus of their practices with Chartwell Law.

“We are fortunate to be able to bring these experienced attorneys to Chartwell,” said Megan Dougherty, a partner in the firm’s Valley Forge, PA office and member of Chartwell’s Administrative Committee, which is responsible for recruiting talent and overseeing the firm’s growth.  “It is especially gratifying because we believe our clients deserve top-notch representation, which is why we seek attorneys that have extensive training and experience in the practice areas that best suit our clients’ needs, in this case first party property defense.”

Chartwell Law’s insurance defense attorneys represent and counsel both domestic and international insurance carriers in a variety of insurance issues and have achieved successful results in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels.  The addition of Cruz-Bustillo, Ibarra, Tobin, Crabtree, and Ortega adds depth and bench strength to Chartwell Law’s insurance coverage defense team in Miami and across Florida.

Cruz-Bustillo said, “Chartwell offers a tremendous opportunity for us to continue to provide excellent advocacy services to our clients.” Cruz-Bustillo, Ibarra, Tobin, Crabtree, and Ortega continues Chartwell Law’s strategic growth plan making Miami the firm’s largest office, followed by New York City and Philadelphia.  Chartwell recently added a total of 15 new attorneys to its Florida offices and a total of 25 new lawyers firm-wide.

“We search for lawyers who not only provide exceptional legal services, but also enjoy building long-term and personal relationships with clients.  As we discover talented lawyers, who are also good people, we find ways to incorporate them into our unique culture.  We take our responsibilities to our clients and to each other very seriously,” said Michael Diamond, one of the founding partners of the firm.  Both Dougherty and Diamond anticipate further firm growth in several states.

Chartwell Law, a full-service law firm, now has 128 attorneys in 18 offices located throughout the United States.  The firm represents companies, insurers, self-insureds and individuals in a wide array of matters including first and third party insurance coverage and defense matters; defense of commercial and civil litigation; employment disputes; marine matters; and workers’ compensation cases.
