(Philadelphia, PA) — Chartwell is pleased to welcome Luigi Tollis as a Partner in the firm’s New York office, continuing the firm’s focused expansion in key litigation markets and further enhancing its capabilities in Labor Law, premises liability, and property damage defense.
Luigi is an experienced litigator who represents clients through every phase of litigation, with a focus on defending complex liability and property-related matters across a range of industries. His practice includes extensive work in depositions, dispositive motion practice, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution, as well as supporting trial teams through verdict and appeal. In addition to his litigation work, Luigi plays an active role in mentoring and developing junior attorneys, contributing to the growth of strong, collaborative teams.
Earlier in his career, Luigi also handled commercial finance and insurance litigation matters, including business interruption and coverage disputes, multi-party commercial litigation, and high-profile financial claims. This experience provides him with a broader perspective on how litigation strategy aligns with business objectives and risk management.

Luigi earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, where he was named to the Dean’s List and received the Jurisprudence Award in Antitrust. He earned his B.A. in History from Providence College. He is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
He has been recognized as a New York Metro Region Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2019 through 2023.
