Amber Stapleton advises and represents employers, insurers, and self-insured businesses statewide in workplace disputes. She draws on experience from both the plaintiff and defense sides, bringing a balanced and informed perspective to her practice.
Before joining Chartwell’s workers’ compensation group, Amber represented employees, insurers, and businesses in matters involving employment discrimination, personal injury, and commercial disputes. She counseled individuals and organizations on claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and workplace policies, and handled cases in both state and federal courts. Her litigation experience includes drafting and responding to EEOC filings, preparing pleadings and discovery, conducting legal research, managing negotiations, and taking and defending depositions.
She also advised clients on best practices, coverage, and compliance, and developed strategies to mitigate risk and manage contested matters.
Amber earned her J.D. from William & Mary Law School, where she was active in the Black Law Students Association, Student Legal Services, and the Lemon Project Society. During law school, she served as a clinic intern in both the Special Education Advocacy Law Clinic and the Lewis B. Puller Veterans Benefits Clinic, advocating for students and veterans seeking essential educational and disability accommodations.
She holds a B.A., cum laude, from Agnes Scott College, where she received the Cronan Award for Excellence in the Study of Politics and served as President of the Honor Court.
Amber is admitted to practice in Georgia and is active in several professional organizations, including the Labor & Employment Law Mentorship Academy, the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (where she serves as Mentorship Chair), and multiple Young Lawyers Division committees focused on labor, employment, and workers’ compensation.
In her free time, Amber enjoys attending sci-fi conventions, watching horror movies, and learning about history.
