Daniel Beel focuses his practice on civil litigation, representing insurers, businesses, and individuals in personal injury, motor vehicle liability, first-party property, and other insurance defense matters in Texas state and federal courts. He counsels clients on claim evaluation, exposure, litigation strategy, and resolution and handles matters through all stages of litigation.

Daniel has substantial experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation. He regularly takes and defends depositions of parties, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts and has extensive experience briefing dispositive motions and other significant litigation issues. He also works closely with claims professionals to develop case strategy, evaluate risk, and provide recommendations regarding resolution.

Daniel has served as both first-chair and second-chair trial counsel in multiple personal injury jury trials. His trial experience informs his approach to case development and strategy, including the evaluation of witnesses, evidence, and legal issues from the outset of litigation. He also regularly serves as lead defense counsel in mediations and settlement negotiations.

Earlier in his career, Daniel defended maritime and personal injury matters arising under general maritime law, the Jones Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, and the Defense Base Act. His work included the defense of employers, insurers, and other clients in complex injury and occupational claims involving significant potential exposure.

Daniel earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and played on the university’s ice hockey team.
