EDUCATION

Northern Illinois University College of Law

Devin Taseff is part of Chartwell’s nationally focused trucking and transportation practice. He represents motor carriers and transportation companies of all sizes, guiding clients through litigation in both state and federal courts.

Devin is actively involved in every stage of a matter, from immediate post-accident response through trial. He frequently responds to accident scenes within hours of an incident, conducting early investigations and preserving critical evidence that shapes case strategy from the outset. From there, he employs a disciplined and assertive approach to motion practice and discovery, with the goal of developing a complete and accurate account of how and why an accident occurred and positioning matters for resolution.

Before joining Chartwell, Devin was an associate in the Peoria office of a regional law firm, where he gained significant experience defending motor carriers in high-exposure transportation matters. He began his legal career as a paralegal for a Bloomfield criminal defense firm and gained early courtroom experience during law school as an extern in Northern Illinois University’s Civil Justice Clinic, where he practiced under a 7-11 license.

Devin is closely engaged in the trucking defense community. He regularly presents at conferences and seminars, including programs for the Peoria County Bar Association and truck-driving safety initiatives, and he has authored numerous articles for trucking newsletters and industry publications.

Law runs deep in Devin’s family. Inspired by his father—a criminal trial lawyer for nearly four decades—Devin is the fifth attorney in the Taseff family and brings that legacy of advocacy and justice to his own practice. He takes particular pride in representing truckers and the transportation professionals who keep goods moving and communities functioning across the country.
