Kevin Kelly is a seasoned litigation attorney at Chartwell who focuses his practice on first-party property claims and insurance coverage matters. He represents domestic and international insurance carriers in matters involving breach of contract and bad-faith allegations, as well as disputes arising from insurance fraud, arson investigations, accidental fires, wind and hail events, water losses, and all other forms of property damage.
Kevin brings significant litigation experience to his practice and regularly assists carriers with pre-suit investigations and early case assessment. He is known for maintaining close communication with his clients throughout the life of a matter, providing practical risk-exposure analysis and guidance at every stage of litigation.
Licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, Kevin has litigated cases in both state and federal courts in each jurisdiction. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and has been involved in multiple appeals at that level. In addition, he is admitted to the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.
Kevin earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
He is active in the defense bar and maintains memberships with the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar, and the Defense Research Institute (DRI).
Outside of his practice, Kevin enjoys following Florida State football, reading, and traveling with his wife.
