(Philadelphia, PA) — With nearly two decades of litigation experience representing insurance carriers and institutional clients, Magdalena Perlman has joined Chartwell as a partner in the firm's New York office. Her arrival further strengthens the firm's civil litigation and insurance defense capabilities throughout New York.
Perlman focuses her practice on representing insurance carriers and institutional clients in high-exposure claims involving premises liability, transportation accidents, construction-related losses, complex tort litigation, employment disputes, medical malpractice, and civil rights matters. She works closely with claims professionals and business leaders to evaluate risk, assess reserves, direct litigation strategy, and identify opportunities for favorable resolution.
"Magdalena brings the kind of judgment that clients value most when the stakes are high," said Chartwell Partner Carmen Nicolaou. "She combines strong litigation skills with a business-minded approach to case management. Her depth of experience and collaborative style make her a fantastic addition to our team, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Chartwell."
Throughout her career, Perlman has managed complex, multi-party litigation and handled every phase of the litigation process, from early case assessment through trial preparation, mediation, and resolution. She has successfully secured dismissals in high-exposure matters, while also advising clients on settlement considerations and long-term litigation management.
Perlman earned her J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
