(Philadelphia, PA) — Chartwell Law continues to grow its New York presence with the addition of Elizabeth “Liz” Kimundi as a partner, bringing a depth of experience in civil litigation that further strengthens the firm’s national capabilities.

Liz has over 15 years of experience representing clients in sophisticated litigation in state, federal, and appellate courts. Her practice includes product liability, catastrophic injury, litigation under New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241, commercial and employment disputes, constitutional claims, and multidistrict litigation involving both domestic and international issues.

“We think Liz’s depth of experience across product liability, catastrophic injury, and New York Labor Law claims, combined with her practical approach to risk evaluation, make her an excellent addition to our team,” said Chartwell Partner Len Kushnir. “When we met Liz, we were impressed by her clear communication style, which we believe will enable her to provide effective guidance to our client in complex cases.”

Liz has extensive experience defending manufacturers, distributors, retailers, property owners, and construction professionals in matters involving fire and explosion, workplace injuries, and product defects. She also advises organizations on workplace policies and liability-reduction strategies.

Her appellate experience includes handling significant statutory and constitutional challenges, as well as cases involving international law, sovereign immunity, employment discrimination, and wage-and-hour claims. In addition, Liz has led large-scale e-discovery initiatives, developing efficient systems for document review and forensic analysis.

With an advanced degree in international law and first-class honors in her legal studies, Liz brings a strong academic foundation to her practice. She is admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and is an active member of the Defense Research Institute and the Metropolitan Black Bar Association. She has also authored and co-authored publications on international legal issues and resource governance disputes.
