(Philadelphia, PA) — Experience and a deep understanding of Pennsylvania workers’ compensation law define the career of Joseph D’Amico, who has joined Chartwell Law as a Partner in the firm’s Harrisburg office.

Joe brings more than 30 years of experience representing employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters across the full spectrum of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act. His practice is marked by a thoughtful, deliberate approach, a strong command of the law, and effective advocacy before workers’ compensation judges, developed through decades of litigation and claims resolution.

Throughout his career, Joe has guided challenging workers’ compensation matters through resolution, routinely handling disputed medical issues, conflicting expert opinions, and extensive evidentiary records. He is widely respected for his professionalism and his ability to communicate clearly and effectively with judges, opposing counsel, medical experts, claims professionals, and clients.

Joe is a Certified Specialist in the Practice of Workers’ Compensation Law, as designated by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section of Workers’ Compensation Law and authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, an achievement held by a select group of practitioners in the Commonwealth. In addition, he is a frequent speaker and educator on workers’ compensation issues, presenting at Pennsylvania Bar Institute seminars and to medical professionals and employer representatives on emerging case law, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) claims involving first responders and practical strategies for managing workers’ compensation claims.

“Joe’s depth of experience and reputation within the Pennsylvania workers’ compensation community make him a natural fit for the firm,” said Chartwell Partner, Rob Baker. “At a time when claims are growing more complex, his steady judgment and long-view perspective add real strength to our team.”

Outside of his legal practice, Joe is an accomplished musician who plays guitar and piano. He also enjoys hiking in cold-weather destinations, including Alaska, Iceland, and Canada.
