Emily A. Seale focuses her practice on mediation and civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury defense, premises liability, and transportation-related matters. She represents individuals and businesses throughout all phases of litigation, working closely with clients to pursue outcomes that align with their business objectives.
Emily has extensive litigation experience, including drafting and arguing motions, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and preparing witnesses for deposition and trial testimony. She has successfully resolved numerous matters through mediation and negotiation and has also served as first-chair trial counsel, securing a directed verdict in favor of her client after handling pre-trial motions, evidentiary issues, opening statement, and witness examinations at trial.
In addition to her litigation practice, Emily is a qualified mediator through the McLennan County Dispute Resolution Center and has developed the judgment and temperament that effective mediation requires. She brings valuable insight into strategies that help clients evaluate risk and identify practical paths toward resolution. With an active trial practice, she offers current, practical insight into what drives resolution. Emily understands the risks you’re weighing, the costs you’re calculating, and the realities both sides face when settlement talks begin. She also has a proven track record of settling her own cases, which means she understands what it takes to move parties from “maybe” to “yes.”
Emily earned her J.D. from Baylor University School of Law, where she received the Dean’s Excellence Award Scholarship, was inducted into the Order of the Barristers in recognition of her advocacy skills, and earned multiple moot court awards for her brief writing and oral argument skills. She received her B.A., cum laude, from The University of Texas at Austin.
Emily is admitted to practice in Texas and before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of Texas. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the Collin County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute (DRI). She was recognized by D Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers Under 40 in 2022.
