Len Kushnir focuses his practice on premises liability defense, with a particular emphasis on representing property owners in high-exposure lawsuits. He regularly defends landlords, commercial property owners, bars and restaurants, business owners, trucking companies, and insurers in a wide range of general liability matters.
Len’s work encompasses the defense of claims involving premises liability, large-scale property loss, negligent security, Dram Shop liability, construction accidents, motor vehicle and trucking incidents, and wrongful death. He is frequently called upon to handle matters involving significant damages exposure and challenging liability issues, particularly those arising from property conditions and fire-related incidents.
An experienced trial attorney, Len handles all phases of insurance defense litigation. He has conducted jury trials to verdict and regularly argues matters before the appellate courts in New York and New Jersey.
Before joining Chartwell, Len practiced with a New Jersey commercial and insurance defense firm. He previously served as Managing Attorney of the New York office of a regional law firm, where he oversaw civil litigation matters and represented clients across a broad range of liability disputes.
Len earned his Juris Doctor from The City University of New York School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of New York.
