Shanna Torgerson represents national and international clients across a wide range of litigation matters, with a strong emphasis on general liability, premises liability, and transportation defense. She defends national and international businesses, big box stores, and self-insured organizations in negligence matters, and has significant experience representing owners, contractors, and subcontractors in claims brought under New York Labor Law, as well as handling employment-related disputes and breach of contract matters. Shanna guides clients from early investigation through resolution in both state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey.
Shanna is also a trusted advisor to motor carriers, commercial fleet operators, brokers, and insurers facing claims arising from catastrophic accidents, wrongful death actions, cargo disputes, and product liability matters involving commercial vehicles. She works closely with transportation clients to coordinate rapid-response investigations, develop early case assessments, preserve critical evidence, and position cases for favorable outcomes, whether through motion practice, negotiated resolution, or trial. In addition to her litigation work, Shanna regularly counsels clients on risk management, safety practices, and risk transfer strategies designed to reduce exposure and strengthen defensibility before claims arise.
Shanna is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Trucking Association of New York, where she serves on both the Statewide and Metro Government Affairs Committees, staying closely attuned to legislative and regulatory developments impacting the transportation industry.
