Barret S. Albritton is a multi-practice liability defense attorney who brings more than 20 years of experience representing and defending businesses, large self-insured organizations, insurance carriers, and employers in a wide range of litigation matters. His practice includes transportation and trucking liability, general liability and casualty defense, construction defect, and professional liability defense.
An experienced trial lawyer, Barret takes a strategic, detail-oriented approach to managing cases from initial response and investigation through resolution. He represents clients in federal and state courts across Tennessee and the southeastern United States. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to defending motor carriers, owner-operators, and logistics companies in high-exposure transportation matters. He has extensive experience handling claims involving tractor-trailers, delivery fleets, and interstate carriers, including the defense of catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases arising from commercial vehicle accidents. In addition to litigation, Barret advises trucking clients on risk management and strategies to minimize exposure and avoid costly disputes.
Barret’s broader litigation practice includes the defense of professional negligence claims, including legal malpractice, engineering liability, and home inspector liability. His experience in tort litigation encompasses premises liability, product liability, automobile liability claims, construction defect, and contractor liability.
Barret is known for his ability to quickly and efficiently analyze liability, assess risk, and develop practical, effective case strategies aligned with his clients’ objectives. In addition to his litigation work, he advises clients on the adoption of best practices and proactive risk management strategies designed to reduce exposure and control litigation costs.
He is a frequent lecturer and national presenter on risk management topics, including the first ninety days of a catastrophic transportation claim, the first ninety days of a catastrophic construction defect claim, and other related topics. Barret has been recognized by Best Lawyers (2026) in Litigation – Construction and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is active in his community and currently serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chattanooga, Hope’s Haven, and Family Promise of Greater Chattanooga, and is involved in activities with the Northside Neighborhood House.
