Barret S. Albritton brings over 20 years of experience representing and defending businesses, large self-insured organizations, insurance carriers, and employers in general liability and casualty defense matters, workers’ compensation claims, and employment law and workplace-related issues.
An experienced trial lawyer, Barret represents clients in federal and state courts across Tennessee and the southeastern United States. His multifaceted practice includes a wide range of litigation matters. In the area of general liability and casualty defense, he defends clients in professional negligence claims involving errors and omissions liability, legal malpractice, and title company liability.
Barret is also accomplished in counseling secondary education institutions, including colleges and universities, on risk management policies and procedures related to general liability matters, with particular focus on sexual misconduct and Title IX litigation.
In the area of tort litigation, Barret’s work includes automobile liability claims; contractor liability on large-scale highway construction projects; contractor liability in residential construction; home inspectors’ liability in mold cases; medical device product liability for manufacturers and distributors; and product liability matters involving large chain distribution centers.
Rounding out his practice, Barret advises clients on the adoption of best practices and risk management strategies designed to reduce exposure and avoid the costs of litigation when possible. He is a frequent lecturer and national presenter on risk management–related topics. Barret has also been recognized by Best Lawyers for 2026 in Litigation – Construction and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
An active member of his community, Barret is involved with several organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chattanooga, Hope’s Haven, Leadership Chattanooga, and the Brock-Cooper American Inns of Court.
