With more than a decade of litigation experience, Phillip Raine represents corporations, insurers, medical providers, transportation companies, and individuals in state and federal courts throughout Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado. His practice encompasses a wide range of civil litigation, with particular concentration on trucking and transportation defense, general liability, consumer protection, serious personal injury, and wrongful death matters.
At Chartwell, Phil plays a key role in the firm’s growing Kansas City trucking and transportation practice, representing motor carriers, logistics providers, and insurers in matters involving catastrophic injury, property damage, and regulatory compliance. He has served as both first and second chair in jury and bench trials, as well as arbitration hearings, and is experienced in every stage of litigation—from early case evaluation and strategy through trial and appeal.
Phil earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri, graduating in the top 25% of his class, and his B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Truman State University. He is active in the legal community, serving as President-Elect and Vice President of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City, where he has also held leadership positions in the Young Lawyers Section. He is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and has authored and presented on topics related to arbitration and extra-contractual litigation.
Committed to service beyond his legal practice, Phil volunteers with Scouting America and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
