Michael J. Kranzler is an insurance defense attorney representing large insurance carriers throughout Florida.

Using a strategic and outcome-oriented approach to litigation, Michael’s goal is to get his clients the results they want through the development and application of creative litigation techniques. He prioritizes the efficient resolution of each case and prides himself on advising his clients without any varnishing of the facts or law affecting each case. If a case merits early settlement, he will work to resolve it in the most cost-effective manner; if the case is defensible, he will prepare a comprehensive litigation strategy calculated to obtain a result based on his client’s wants and needs.

Michael’s investigations include an evaluation of an insured’s credibility, from their social media history to the nonverbal cues at depositions which not only speak volumes to the facts of the case, but also provide his clients with insight that can be leveraged at trial. His data-driven approach includes a deep analysis of his opposing counsels’ historical negotiation tactics, which allows him to predict the likely settlement range or anticipated branching litigation paths at the outset in most cases. In the last seven years, he has saved his clients over 14 million dollars off the amounts sought in litigation by insureds and their counsels. Some of these representative matters include:

  • Anabel Ascencio, et al v. Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Broward Case No. CACE-18-012238, Order on Defendant’s Amended Motion for Reconsideration, June 17, 2019.
  • Jozsef Basco v. Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Miami-Dade Case No. 2017-001602-CA-01, Order Granting Defendant’s Motion for Final Summary Judgment, January 16, 2020.
  • Altagracia Mera v. Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Broward Case No. CACE-18-020878, Order Granting Defendant’s Motion for Summary Judgment, February 20, 2020.
  • Daniel Beitra and Jeannette Beitra v. Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Broward Case No. CACE-17-012159, Order on Defendant’s Amended Renewed Motion for Entry of Final Judgment, June 6, 2019, aff’d, Case No. 4D19-1842 (Fla. 4th DCA 2020).
  • Juslin Etienne v. Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Broward Case No. CACE-19-006490, Order Granting Defendant’s Motion for Reconsideration, June 29, 2020.
  • National Water Restoration Inc. a/a/o Jaccene Octeus v. Outside of his practice, Michael is a competitive obstacle course racer and a two-time representative of Team USA at the Obstacle Course Racing World Championships.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael was the lead attorney heading up the first-party property defense practice group for a law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a specific focus on the investigation and defense of fraudulent first party insurance claims.
