(Philadelphia, PA) — Chartwell’s Dallas office has added another experienced trial attorney to its partner ranks with the arrival of Rwan Hardesty. Rwan joins a team that has grown considerably this year, further enhancing the experience and resources available to clients in the market.
Rwan represents insurers and self-insured businesses in serious civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and other substantial liability claims. Her practice also encompasses general liability and casualty defense, construction matters, motor vehicle liability, personal injury defense, and transportation.
“Rwan brings the kind of experience that makes an immediate difference for our clients and for our Dallas team,” said Dallas Partner Kimberly Guest. “She’s an accomplished trial attorney who understands both the legal and business considerations that drive difficult cases. Just as importantly, she has built and led teams herself, and that perspective will be incredibly valuable as our Dallas team continues to evolve.”
Rwan has spent her career representing clients in Texas state and federal courts as well as arbitration and mediation proceedings. She has defended both first-party and third-party insurance claims and has significant experience with multi-million-dollar catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters involving complex liability issues and multiple layers of insurance coverage. Her appellate experience includes briefing matters before courts across Texas.
Her arrival comes during a period of substantial change for Chartwell in Texas. Earlier this year, more than 40 attorneys and professional staff joined the firm’s Dallas office, and this month, Chartwell opened its Houston office, adding a third Texas location alongside Dallas and Austin. Rwan’s addition builds on that momentum, bringing another seasoned trial attorney with experience leading attorneys and litigation teams and helping manage firm operations.
Before joining Chartwell, Rwan held leadership roles overseeing attorneys and paralegals and managing litigation dockets. Earlier in her career, she founded and grew her own litigation practice, where she led a team of attorneys while maintaining an active caseload and directing the firm’s operations and growth.
Rwan has also devoted considerable time to legal education and mentorship. She has served as an adjunct professor teaching paralegal studies and law, coached mock trial and moot court teams, and mentored law students.
She earned her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology from San Diego State University, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
