Amanda Mitteer Bartley focuses her practice on civil litigation, with a primary emphasis on workers’ compensation defense on behalf of insurance companies and employers. She has also represented numerous carriers and employers in general liability matters and across all areas of workers’ compensation.
Amanda works closely with her clients to achieve positive outcomes, prioritizing proactive communication, efficient and cost-effective case resolution, attention to detail, and thorough legal research. She also holds a certification in Business Management Essentials from Cornell University, enhancing her ability to understand and address the operational needs and business goals of her clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Amanda worked for a prominent claimant’s attorney, giving her valuable insight into both sides of workers’ compensation cases and a deeper understanding of the strategies and motivations of claimant’s counsel. She also interned for Senator James Jeffords in Vermont and for a well-known law firm in Boston, where she worked alongside retired Massachusetts judges who arbitrated and mediated numerous cases. Through these internships, Amanda developed practical and effective negotiation skills that continue to benefit her legal practice today.
While in college, Amanda was inducted into the National Honor Society Kappa Delta Pi, volunteered through Alpha Phi Omega, and worked as a biological researcher for the Smithsonian Institute. During law school, she interned with the U.S. Department of Education and the Office for Civil Rights, tutored students in legal research and writing, and served as a mediator at the Merrimack County Courthouse in New Hampshire.
An avid philanthropist, Amanda has helped raise over $140,000 for local charities, including Voices for Kids Guardian Ad Litem Program, PACE, and the Alliance for the Arts. She serves as Vice President of KindLee, a local charitable organization that performs hundreds of random acts of kindness throughout the community. Amanda remains active in her legal and broader communities, volunteering with several national organizations such as the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, the National Breast Cancer Coalition, the Miss America Organization, and the Miss Universe Organization. She is also a former foster parent through the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida.
